Tragic moments were experienced by the 61-year-old baker who fell victim to a brutal armed robbery in Mandra, Attica, in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He is currently hospitalized in serious condition at Thriasio Hospital after being attacked by two masked men who immobilized and brutally beat him outside his bakery, then forced him to his home where he endured horrific torture as they demanded money, bank cards, and valuables.

The victim himself spoke about the thriller he experienced with difficulty from his hospital bed. According to him, everything began at 5 AM when he stepped out of his wood-fired bakery to get wood. The two perpetrators appeared to know the baker’s movements well. The scenes described by the 61-year-old reveal the unprecedented brutality of the attackers.
“They punctured one of my lungs and dislocated my shoulder. They were stomping on me, beating me… They were inside for about 40 minutes,” the 61-year-old describes with difficulty, adding that the robbers spoke Greek and seemed to know his movements well. However, when the perpetrators found nothing to take from the bakery, they forced him at gunpoint to lead them to his house next door. There they extracted 600 euros, two bank cards, and whatever valuables they found, while continuing to beat him mercilessly, even after he had surrendered all his belongings.
“They beat him with fury, with rage”
According to “Mega,” a store employee stated in shock: “They turned everything upside down. He gave them everything he had. He had nothing else, but they wouldn’t stop. They beat him with fury, with rage.” In fact, she was the one who found him a little later, inside the store, tied up and in terrible condition.
“I was calling ‘George, George’ and finally found him hidden behind the door leading to his house. His head, mouth, and nose were tied with bakery cloths and my apron. They had put handcuffs on him that cut off circulation to his hands – they had turned black. He was traumatized and beaten everywhere,” she recounts.
It should be noted that the 61-year-old was rushed to Thriasio Hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries to his lung, shoulder, and hand. Doctors confirmed shoulder dislocation and extensive bruising throughout his body.
