A 9-year-old boy underwent neurosurgical operation at Papageorgiou Hospital after falling yesterday – under circumstances that remain unclear – from a first-floor balcony in Asprovalta, Thessaloniki. The child suffered a brain hematoma and a fracture to his right arm. The boy was initially transferred to a Health Center, but it was ultimately deemed necessary to transfer him to Papageorgiou Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Immediately after the operation, the 9-year-old was transferred intubated for treatment to the Intensive Care Unit of Hippokration Hospital.

It should be noted that the child was seriously injured on Tuesday morning, following a fall from the first-floor balcony in the Asprovalta area. He suffered serious head injuries as well as blunt force trauma, resulting in the need for immediate transfer initially to Papageorgiou Hospital. There, doctors proceeded with surgical intervention to address the injuries.
