Even tomorrow, Wednesday August 6th, the intensive care specialists at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Pediatric ICU) of the Rio University Hospital are not expected to have a clear picture of the exact cause behind a 14-year-old girl from Kefalonia collapsing after experiencing sudden respiratory muscle failure. She was urgently transported following extensive mobilization of doctors, nurses, and EKAB paramedics, intubated and in critical condition, to the Pediatric ICU at Rio University Hospital.
Medical team maintains suspicions regarding 14-year-old’s collapse – New MRI scheduled for Monday (11/8)
The intensive care specialists at the renowned Pediatric ICU maintain certain suspicions regarding the cause of the sudden respiratory muscle failure in the 14-year-old and continue their investigation until they reach a definitive conclusion, which appears will require several more days.
As part of this ongoing investigation, the intubated 14-year-old patient is expected to undergo another brain MRI on Monday, August 11th.
