Telekom Named Major Sponsor of the 43rd Athens Classic Marathon

The 43rd Athens Classic Marathon, the Authentic, once again receives the full backing of Telekom as Major Sponsor of SEGAS, while also serving as the Naming Sponsor of the Telekom 5km Road Race, the Telekom Children’s 1,200m Road Race, and the Telekom Special Olympics Hellas & Athletes with Disabilities 1,200m Race. Under the central message “No one runs alone,” Telekom stands by runners every step of the way — from preparation and the starting line all the way to the finish — highlighting the vital role that support plays in every personal achievement.
The two-day racing weekend kicks off on Saturday, November 7, with the Telekom Children’s 1,200m Road Race at 4:00 PM, followed by the Telekom Special Olympics Hellas & Athletes with Disabilities 1,200m Race at 4:45 PM. The starting gun for the Telekom 5km Road Race fires at 5:00 PM, with the event broadcast live on Magenta Sport 1 and the MagentaTV YouTube channel. MagentaTV’s television coverage begins at 4:30 PM, featuring a studio at the Panathenaic Stadium and more than 15 cameras, cranes, and drones positioned at the start, the finish, and along the entire course. The network’s journalism team will capture the pulse of the event through live reports and athlete interviews. The weekend culminates on Sunday at 8:30 AM in Marathon, with the launch of the iconic 42km historic route.
Throughout the two-day event, Telekom will keep pace with the spirit of the marathon. Live DJ sets and drummers will energize the atmosphere, while dedicated cheer teams will rally runners at key points along the course. At the Sponsors Village, directly opposite the Panathenaic Stadium, the Telekom booth will serve as a central meeting point for runners and visitors alike, offering interactive experiences, surprises, and gifts.
Telekom employees will once again take an active role in this year’s event — both as race participants and as volunteers — with dedicated teams stationed along the route to cheer on and support runners with every stride toward the finish line.
