Nikos Dendias has requested that the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, immediately initiate the required procedures to place the Navy Petty Officer on suspension, following his arrest in Lefkada in connection with a series of arson attacks targeting his former partners.
The 46-year-old was arrested on Friday afternoon (30/10) in Lefkada, after allegedly carrying out two arson attacks in Glyfada in the early hours of the same day, approximately 15 minutes apart. According to authorities, he set fire to the apartment of a former partner, as well as to vehicles belonging to another woman he had previously been in a relationship with, and her current partner.
Additionally, according to a report by Anna Emmei for parapolitika.gr, the 46-year-old military officer has also been identified as a suspect in a third arson attack in Nea Iraklio, where a vehicle belonging to yet another former partner was set on fire.
