Konstantinos Adam posted a photo on Facebook with his daughter Christina, the 20-year-old who died following the use of the psychotropic drug MDMA in Thessaloniki. He wrote: “Safe travels, my little angel! There are no words for this pain. Thank you for the years you gave us by your side. For us, you will never leave and you never truly left. Rest in paradise, our daughter, our child! We love you. There is no goodbye for a love that never ends.” In a follow-up post, he announced that Christina’s funeral would take place on Tuesday morning (13/10) at the Church of Saint Panteleimon in Kalamaria.
Thessaloniki: Felony charges filed against the 20-year-old arrested in connection with her death
The prosecutor filed felony charges of fatal exposure against the 20-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of Christina in Thessaloniki. The young woman died tragically after consuming the illegal drug MDMA at a music party. The two of them were at a club when they obtained a quantity of a narcotic substance from an unknown third party, which both of them consumed. Shortly afterward, the young woman lost consciousness and was rushed to a hospital in the city, where she passed away on Saturday morning (10/10), despite the efforts of medical staff.
In addition to the above charge, the 20-year-old man is also facing misdemeanor charges of procurement, possession, and use of illegal substances. He has been referred to appear before the 5th Special Narcotics Investigating Judge of Thessaloniki and remains in custody pending that hearing.
The prosecutor simultaneously filed criminal charges against unknown individuals for an aggravated case of drug trafficking involving substances capable of causing serious bodily harm or death. This charge is directed at the person from whom the specific drug was obtained.
Officers from the Crime Investigation and Detection Department of Thermi carried out the arrest of the 20-year-old friend of the young woman, while police investigations are ongoing to identify the individual who supplied the specific narcotic substance.
“He was pushing her to take drugs”
The young woman’s father revealed that the 20-year-old had also been with her at a club three years earlier, when substances had been slipped into her drink. Speaking outside the courthouse to SKAI TV, he said: “I can’t believe what happened. I got a call at 5 in the morning telling me my child had collapsed after something was put in her drink. Ecstasy, pills like that. She went to the party with her friend. He was pushing her to take these substances. Three years ago something similar happened, but back then we saved my daughter.” He had already stated that the family would do everything in their power to hold those responsible accountable and to fully clarify the circumstances under which their daughter lost her life, so that no other parents would ever find themselves in the same position.
