Speaking on Tuesday morning (15/09) on SKAI Radio, Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and government spokesperson, Pavlos Marinakis, left open the possibility of additional citizen support measures within 2026. He emphasized that the government has maintained fiscal reserves for 2026, which will be reassessed based on energy price developments.
“The government has kept reserves for 2026. The data on energy prices will be evaluated in October to provide citizens with whatever additional support is possible, based on fiscal capacity,” Marinakis stated.

Pavlos Marinakis also noted that the energy crisis and its consequences cannot be addressed exclusively at the national level, as it is, he said, a phenomenon with both a global and European dimension. He pointed out that the impact of this new reality on the European economy is currently the number one topic of discussion within the European Union.
