Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis toured the pavilions of the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) on Saturday morning (September 5), arriving shortly before 10:00 a.m. for the official opening ceremony, where he attended a blessing service conducted by the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Filotheos.

Following the ceremony, Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the leadership of the exhibition organization at the DEI – HELEXPO offices, before embarking on his traditional walkthrough of the fair’s pavilions.
The Prime Minister’s first stop was a Formula 4 single-seater racing car, after which he visited the media pavilions. At the ERT (Greek public broadcaster) stand, he was welcomed by ERT President Yannis Papadopoulos and government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis. Papadopoulos showcased the broadcaster’s new digital capabilities before presenting Mitsotakis with a commemorative photograph from his very first visit to the Thessaloniki International Fair back in 2004 — prompting the Prime Minister to quip with a smile: “I’m not sure I should show this to the cameras.” The Prime Minister also visited a robotics pavilion and took time to speak with university students during the tour.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of National Economy Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of State Akis Skertsос, Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos, Deputy Minister of Interior for Macedonia and Thrace Konstantinos Gkiulekas, Mayor of Thessaloniki Stelios Angeloudis, European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas, and TIF–Helexpo President Christos Tsentemeidis.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis is scheduled to deliver his keynote opening address at 8:00 p.m. at the “Ioannis Vellidis” Conference Centre.
