Three of the individuals detained in connection with the shocking case in Kypseli have been formally arrested after police discovered a frozen fetus inside luggage at an Airbnb apartment. Those arrested are the 43-year-old Greek father, the 28-year-old German mother, and their 15-year-old daughter.

The three were arrested on charges of failing to report the discovery of a deceased person, while the police investigation into the circumstances surrounding how the fetus came to be stored in the family’s luggage remains ongoing. Additionally, the 43-year-old father and a 26-year-old Afghan man who was with the family also face drug-related charges, as small quantities of narcotics were found during the search.
Two young boys transferred to children’s hospital
The family’s two youngest children, aged 12 and 9, were transferred to a children’s hospital for safeguarding purposes. The case came to light after the owner of the apartment on Thasou Street in Kypseli called on DIAS motorcycle police officers for assistance, reporting that the family he was hosting refused to pay him and was using drugs inside the property.
During the subsequent search, officers initially detained six individuals and, while going through their belongings, made the macabre discovery.
The 28-year-old German woman reportedly told police that the fetus was hers and that she had suffered a miscarriage approximately eight months ago. Her account, along with the precise circumstances surrounding the fetus’s death and preservation, are the subject of the ongoing investigation.
