Shocking scenes unfolded on the island of Capri, Italy, as a group of tourists came to blows in the middle of the street. During the incident, those involved exchanged punches, causing chaos among bystanders who witnessed the brawl. The video, posted on social media, quickly went viral — even being reshared by Italian Green Left MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli.

Chaos in Capri: “More controls are urgently needed”
Borrelli also relayed complaints from local residents and witnesses regarding safety on the island. In his post, he wrote: “In Capri, more checks and greater security are urgently needed. At night, there is only one patrol unit for the entire island. This is not acceptable.”
In response to the MP, Capri’s mayor Paolo Falco addressed the security measures already in place on the island. He emphasized that municipal police and security forces conduct regular patrols, and that approximately 80 high-definition cameras are in operation across the island. However, no further details have emerged regarding the cause of the brawl. Meanwhile, Naples prefect Michele Di Bari, who was present during the incident, expressed his “categorical condemnation” of what took place and ordered stricter security measures to be implemented.
“Rissa oggi a Capri, zona marina grande, all’esterno di un bar. Urgono controlli a Capri e più sicurezza. La notte una sola pattuglia presidia l’intera isola e cosi non va bene”. pic.twitter.com/uRm7LsLYRs
