Dramatic rescue of 26-year-old in Zakynthos after 79 minutes of CPR
After being pulled from the water, the 26-year-old was transported by boat to the port of Agios Nikolaos Volimou, accompanied by a representative of the Coast Guard. Upon arrival at the port, a private doctor immediately began CPR, working to revive him. Shortly after, a National Emergency Medical Service (EKAB) crew arrived on the scene, continuing the resuscitation effort with advanced CPR techniques and the necessary medication. The life-saving efforts lasted nearly 79 minutes, but the young man ultimately survived. He was then rushed to Zakynthos General Hospital, where he remains intubated in the Intensive Care Unit. His condition is described as critical but stable, with doctors closely monitoring his progress.
