The attack occurred on Thursday morning as the train was approaching a station where passengers were preparing to disembark following a drone threat alert. “Unfortunately, I must share the most devastating news: based on the information currently available to us, this attack left no chance for our locomotive crew — the driver and his assistant,” Pertsovskyy stated.
Train attack
The train was carrying 340 passengers, all of whom were safely evacuated with no injuries reported among them. Passengers were subsequently transported to Odessa by bus. Pertsovskyy noted that the crew had been attempting to bring the train to a stop and allow passengers to disembark safely when the drone executed a sudden maneuver, leaving them no time to react.
