The incident involving a helicopter that landed at Sarakiniko beach on the island of Milos — one of the island’s most iconic beaches — has sparked a wave of public outrage and triggered a formal prosecutorial investigation. A video circulating widely on social media shows the helicopter touching down among sunbathers at Sarakiniko so that its passengers could take a swim, prompting the president of the Triovasalos community, Sofia Psatha Gkagkaki, to notify the relevant authorities.
Milos: Civil Aviation Authority and police notified over Sarakiniko helicopter landing
Specifically, the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) was informed of the unauthorized landing, as were local police, who in turn alerted the public prosecutor. The prosecutor subsequently ordered the Milos Police Station to begin gathering preliminary investigative material and to collect the details of all individuals involved in the incident.
The incident took place on Friday. A local businessman who was present at the beach at the time captured the entire event on his mobile phone.
