The final, northern section of the E65 motorway (from Agiofyllo to its junction with the Egnatia Odos) has officially opened to traffic, completing the fast and safe connection between western Thessaly and northern Greece. Alongside the launch of this new road corridor, updated toll prices have been introduced for travelers heading to Thessaly and Macedonia.

E65: Significant reduction in travel times
With the addition of 70.5 new kilometers, the E65 now stretches to a total length of 181.5 kilometers, making it one of the most modern and strategically important road corridors in the country.
Journey times have been dramatically reduced across the board. As indicative examples, the Athens–Grevena–Metsovo route now takes approximately 4 hours, Athens–Kozani is covered in 4.5 hours, and Athens–Kastoria in 4 hours and 35 minutes. Access to Trikala from the capital now takes under 3 hours, while Karditsa is reachable in approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes.
Furthermore, the road connection between Lamia and the Egnatia Odos now takes just 1 hour and 45 minutes, compared to the 3 hours and 15 minutes previously required via the old road network.

Regarding toll charges, the following rates apply on the northern section of the E65 motorway:
Oxyneia Frontal Toll Station

How much will you pay per journey on the E65?
If you are traveling in a passenger car (Category 2) through the newly opened northern section of the E65, you will pay a total of €6.05 in tolls.
If you start your journey from Lamia and travel the entire length of the E65 through to its junction with the Egnatia Odos, the total toll cost comes to €13.50.
