The fourth suspect arrested in connection with the deadly arson attack on the Nestoras family home in Thessaloniki — which took place in the early hours of July 1st — is now under intense scrutiny by authorities. The Counter-Terrorism Unit carried out a search of the 25-year-old’s apartment in the Ano Poli district of Thessaloniki. The operation was conducted in the presence of a judicial officer, with police searching for evidence and other material to strengthen the case file. All seized items will be transferred to forensic laboratories for further examination.

Thessaloniki attack: What role is the fourth suspect alleged to have played?
Investigations by the Counter-Terrorism Unit are in full swing as authorities work to piece together the full picture of the case and clarify the degree of involvement of each suspect in the deadly attack.
The 25-year-old was arrested in the morning pursuant to a warrant issued by the investigating magistrate handling the case. According to reports, his alleged involvement came to light during the testimony process in the preceding 24 hours.
According to the same sources, he is the individual alleged to have received the keys to an abandoned property from its 24-year-old owner. Specifically, the two are said to have met at a café in central Thessaloniki, where the owner handed over the keys at the 25-year-old’s request, under the pretense that a friend needed a place to stay. The 24-year-old, who had known the 25-year-old for many years, trusted him without asking further questions, according to information from ERT. The 25-year-old then allegedly passed the keys on to a 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, who are accused of being the principal perpetrators of the attack on the Nestoras family home.
Suspect to appear in court on Friday
The 25-year-old is expected to appear before the Thessaloniki investigating magistrate on Friday, July 17th, to enter his plea.
It is worth noting that both the written testimony submitted by the 24-year-old the previous day and the clarifying answers he provided to the magistrate directly led to the issuance of the arrest warrant for the 25-year-old. The latter is a known member of the anti-authoritarian movement, in contrast to the 24-year-old, who states he has no ties to that milieu and is currently a postgraduate student in Astronomy and Quantum Physics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
