The Foreign Minister stressed that Greece is a strong pillar of stability, referring to its role within NATO and the European Union, as well as developments surrounding ongoing defense procurement programs.
“Greece is an extremely strong pillar within NATO and the European Union, and it will remain so — through persuasion and credibility. There is interest regarding the defense acquisitions of our neighboring country; however, let us make one thing clear: Greece is at the core of multiple defense programs — it is part of the F-35 program and the F-16 upgrade initiative. There is no American commitment to Turkey regarding the F-35s,” he further emphasized.
