The new industrial facility of M Technologies was inaugurated in Volos, in the presence of Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias and Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos. The inauguration took place in Volos as part of the development of METLEN‘s defense industrial hub. During the event, METLEN’s Executive Chairman, Evangelos Mytilineos, described a strong defense industry as a prerequisite for safeguarding national sovereignty, emphasizing that the new investment is not merely another production facility, but part of a broader industrial ecosystem linking defense, energy, and metallurgy. As he noted, M Technologies’ defense hub is evolving into a fully vertically integrated industrial complex that will exceed 100,000 square meters, with the capacity to support multiple European defense programs. He also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between the Armed Forces and the Greek defense industry, pointing out that domestic production can meet critical operational needs without compromising on quality.
For his part, the Chief Executive Director of METLEN M Technologies, Vasilis Tsiamis, noted that today marks the transition from planning to implementation. He stated that the company’s facilities have already expanded significantly, with the workforce growing from approximately 300 to 550 employees. The goal is for the industrial complex to reach 100,000 sq.m. and employ around 1,000 highly skilled workers by 2028. The new facility forms part of the investment announced by METLEN in 2025 to expand its production capacity in the defense equipment sector. M Technologies already collaborates with major international groups, including KNDS, Naval Group, TKMS, Raytheon, and Iveco Defence Vehicles, participating in the production of critical subsystems for modern military platforms.
