Chaos erupted on Friday afternoon (29/5) during an event when a tornado hit a karting track in Lakkoma, Thessaloniki, as powerful winds swept away tents and various objects, sending people running for safety.

According to reports, the severe weather phenomenon caused panic among those present, as wind gusts swept away tents and equipment located at the track facilities. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, with visitors evacuating in time from areas where there was danger.
The business operators, after the tornado passed, conducted inspections of the facilities to assess the extent of damage and ensure the area remains safe for employees and visitors.
Videos circulating on social media captured the moment the tornado passed through the area, lifting objects and causing panic among those witnessing the phenomenon.

Meteorologists emphasize that similar phenomena can occur locally with little advance warning, especially during periods of intense atmospheric instability. Therefore, citizens are advised to follow authorities’ instructions and avoid staying in open areas when severe weather events occur.
