An explosion occurred on Tuesday (26/5) on a tanker sailing off the coast of Muscat in Oman, according to an official report from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The maritime incident was recorded 60 nautical miles from the Muscat coastline, with the explosion occurring on the port side of the vessel.
Despite the force of the explosion, both the crew and the vessel remain safe, limiting initial concerns about human casualties or serious injuries. However, the tanker’s captain informed authorities that a controlled leak has occurred, with a quantity of fuel spilling into the sea.
