New details emerge from the father of 22-year-old Survivor contestant Stavros Floros about his son’s health condition. It’s recalled that the young man suffered a partial amputation to his left foot. As he explained, from the moment his child realized his life wasn’t in danger, he hasn’t stopped smiling. The father of the young Survivor contestant spoke today (14.05.2026), explaining that transferring Stavros Floros to Miami is being considered so he can continue surgeries and rehabilitation there for his right ankle which was also injured by the boat’s propeller.
He mentioned that relatives have already traveled to the Dominican Republic while his mother will travel once it’s decided where her son will be transferred. “He has overcome the initial shock and smiles constantly since all he thinks about is that he’s alive. When he woke up and realized what had happened, the first thing I thought about was his parents and how they would be psychologically. Right now, his 2 uncles, his sister and my son-in-law are with him in the Dominican Republic. He is deeply moved and constantly thanks Manos who helped him,” he initially said on ANT1.
Survivor: “We care about the best possible outcome for our child in this difficulty” said Stavros Floros’ father
“The possibility of him going to Miami for rehabilitation, surgeries and treatments concerning his right ankle from the knee down is being examined. Once the final plan is finalized, then his mother’s move will also be decided. All he wants now is for the process to be completed quickly so he can return home to Greece,” he continued.
In other statements to MEGA, Stavros Floros’ father mentioned that he came into contact with Acun Ilicali who assured him that Survivor’s production will cover the 22-year-old contestant’s expenses for as long as needed.
“We don’t plan to take legal action. We care about the best possible outcome for our child in this difficulty. The good thing is that he’s alive. The rest, as much as they can be improved, is a matter of prayer,” concluded Stavros Floros’ father.
