The 54-year-old man who confessed to the murder of 21-year-old Nikitas in Crete, along with his wife, have been transferred to Korydallos prison following their testimony and the decision for their pre-trial detention. Their transfer off Crete was decided for security reasons, due to fears of a possible vendetta.
According to ERT, the transfer of the two was carried out via Chania and under extreme secrecy to Piraeus on Friday evening. The transfer was made by the ferry “Kissamos” and the couple arrived at dawn at Piraeus port, while subsequently, accompanied by strong police forces, they were led to Korydallos prison.
According to information emerging from the accused’s testimony, he allegedly claimed that the victim had been “provoking” him for a period of approximately two to two and a half years. As he reportedly stated, on the day of the killing he believed the 21-year-old made a gesture at him, which led him to ram his car into the young man’s vehicle.
The accused also claimed that the victim attempted to kick him and that he then “lost his mind,” resulting in him shooting him six times. In fact, according to the same information, he reportedly declared: “I only had six bullets. If I had 1,000, I would have shot him with all 1,000.”

The 54-year-old’s rage is reflected, according to information, in the forensic examination of the 21-year-old. The report allegedly records that all six bullets hit Nikitas in the torso. Of the wounds, five are through-and-through, one is blind as the bullet remains in the body, and one bullet appears to have been received from behind, as burns were found on the back.
Forensic doctors estimate that the fatal wound is likely located in the torso area, near the armpit.
At the same time, four shots appear to have been fired from a distance of approximately 2 to 3 meters, while two more are being examined to see if they were “mercy shots,” as they are alleged to have been fired from a much shorter distance.
