Christopher is described as a cheerful child with love for his family, a special talent for mathematics, and dreams for the future. According to reports, his online nightmare lasted approximately fifty days, during which strangers approached him through gaming, gaining his trust and gradually leading him into increasingly dangerous challenges.
The perpetrators allegedly demanded personal information about his family while threatening to harm his parents if he didn’t obey their commands. The 15-year-old found himself trapped in an extreme online nightmare that ended tragically, shocking both Britain and Cyprus, where his family originated. To this day, those responsible, who allegedly hid behind fake profiles, have not been identified.
Parents of 15-year-old Christopher share heartbreaking details – “Are you dead?” perpetrators messaged
Christopher’s parents, George and Arete, have dedicated their lives to educating parents and children about the hidden dangers of the internet. Speaking on “Truths with Zina,” they revealed the tragic events in an effort to raise public awareness. “The way technology is today, with the AI tools that exist, children are not safe. Unfortunately, parents don’t understand that their children aren’t safe in their bedrooms. If we as parents had known this, our Christopher would be with us today. But unfortunately, we lost a golden child. We lost our angel, a child who was exceptional,” the father said.
The perpetrators had managed to extract personal and family information from the 15-year-old, then made him their puppet. They led him through continuous challenges, threatening that “if you say anything, we’ll kill you and your parents.”
The 15-year-old’s parents discovered after their son’s death that one of the extreme challenges he was forced to complete was consuming cornflakes rapidly. When his father asked why he was eating so fast, the young boy replied, “I have to, father.” Another time, the 15-year-old was asked to watch horror movies, something he never used to do, while another challenge required him to videotape himself staying awake all night.
The final challenge they forced him into proved fatal for the unfortunate 15-year-old. The tragic ending came when his parents found him dead, and at that moment, the perpetrators sent messages asking “Are you dead?”
“We created a charitable foundation, the ‘Christoforos Charity Foundation.’ We created it to give life to children. To make them understand that it’s not just the Internet. There’s a yard outside, there’s a park, there’s fun with personal friends,” is the awareness message that Christopher’s parents send to young children.
