A shocking video has been released showing the moment of the attack that occurred at the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. The video shows one of the perpetrators arming himself while hidden behind a car before moving away to carry out the attack. The footage reveals how well-prepared the terrorists were. Turkey: Journalist reports on Israeli consulate attack in Istanbul
The journalist reports that the perpetrators attempted to enter the building and move toward the 7th floor, where the consulate is located, with security guards becoming aware of the situation. Police officers ordered the gunmen to stop, but they did not comply, and an exchange of gunfire began. One of the three attackers was killed by police fire, while the other two hid behind a vehicle and continued shooting at the guards. Eventually, the third gunman was wounded in the exchange of fire.
Turkish Interior Minister’s statement
Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Tziftzi stated: “Three individuals who engaged in armed conflict with our police officers on duty in front of the Yapı Kredi Plaza building blocks in Istanbul have been neutralized. Two of our hero police officers were slightly injured. The perpetrators have been identified. It has been determined that one of the individuals, who came to Istanbul from Izmir in a rental car, has ties to an organization that exploits religion, and that one of the two terrorists, who are brothers, has a history related to narcotics.”
