US Vice President JD Vance is preparing to release a book about his faith and religious conversion to Catholicism. JD Vance’s book titled “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith” is expected to be released on June 16, as announced by publisher HarperCollins.
JD Vance: “The story of how I found my faith again”
“The story of how I found my faith again happened, of course, because I had lost it first,” stated the 41-year-old US Vice President JD Vance in a declaration. “The most interesting question that hovers over this book – and in my mind – is why I strayed from the path in the first place. Why the Christian faith of my youth failed to take root,” he noted.
Presidential candidacy speculation
The announcement brings back into the spotlight speculation that Vance will be a candidate for President of the United States in 2028, something he has stated is not an immediate priority for him. The rumors emerged as it’s not uncommon for presidential candidates to publish books before launching their campaigns.
The book was written by Vance himself and will include references to his political journey. He describes his conversion to Catholicism in 2019, as he believes he found a deeper sense of purpose. His previous book “Hillbilly Elegy,” about his childhood years, became a bestseller and was adapted into a film in 2020 by Ron Howard. Vance was chosen by Trump in 2024 as his vice presidential candidate and became one of the youngest vice presidents in US history. Together with his wife, Usha Vance, they have three children and are expecting their fourth.
