“The Supreme Court has made it clear that there is no involvement of state officials in the wiretapping issue” stated among other things Makarios Lazaridis speaking on Parapolitika 90.1 during the show “Opposite Microphones” with journalists Sotiris Xenakis and Vasilis Skouris.

The New Democracy MP commented that there is an issue involving four private individuals, who have been convicted at first instance, while noting that there is trust in Greek justice.
Regarding the possibility of early elections, he responded that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has said that these will take place in Spring 2027. As Makarios Lazaridis estimated, New Democracy will have an absolute majority.
Asked to comment on statements by PASOK officials that they will be the first party, the New Democracy MP pointed out that polls do not show anything like that, while he ruled out cooperation with parties to the right of ND, and with Zoe Konstantopoulou.
