The truck driver involved in the tragic car accident with the van carrying PAOK fans is in a state of shock. Speaking to Romanian media, the Polish truck driver said: “I’ve been driving for 34 years and have never seen anything like this in my life. I’ve driven over 1,000,000 kilometers and this is the first time I’ve encountered such conditions.” According to local media reports, the traffic accident involving PAOK fans represents the worst incident recorded in Timisoara County in at least 20 years.

The fatal accident occurred yesterday (27/01) at midday on Romania’s DN2 national highway, considered one of Europe’s most dangerous roads, where more than 70 people lose their lives annually. The van carrying PAOK fans had 10 passengers aboard, with 7 losing their lives in the crash. The victims’ bodies are expected to return home immediately, as Greek Air Force C-130 aircraft are on standby at Elefsina airbase to travel to Romania and transport the seven victims back to Greece.
