A near-tragic incident occurred on Plateon Street in Haidari, as a large tree fell onto a playground at the exact moment when a grandmother and her grandchild were present at the location, according to ERT’s report.
The fallen tree has caused damage to both the railings and some playground equipment, and it was purely by chance that nothing worse happened.
According to witness testimonies from residents, the tree fell two days ago when a grandmother with her grandchild was at the site. Fortunately, both the woman and the child were not injured.
The area has been cordoned off, and it raises questions why the debris has not been cleared after two days.
