The White House posted the moment on social media, accompanied by the caption “TRUMP DANCE MALAYSIA VERSION”, which sparked thousands of comments and shares.
Peace between Cambodia and Thailand under Trump’s watch
During the visit, Trump oversaw the peace agreement signing ceremony between Cambodia and Thailand, at the annual conference of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
“We did something that many believed couldn’t be done,” Trump declared after the signing, with Cambodia’s prime minister calling the day “historic” and his Thai counterpart speaking of “foundations for lasting peace.”
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim accompanied the American president in a series of bilateral meetings with Southeast Asian leaders. Trump’s tour includes stops in Tokyo to meet with Japan’s new Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and in South Korea for talks with Xi Jinping.
Economic agreements and new era in country relations
After the peace ceremony, Trump signed economic agreements with Cambodia and Thailand, while with Malaysia he proceeded with trade agreements for critical minerals. These moves are considered pivotal for geopolitical stability and cooperation among countries in the region.
