Major controversy and a wave of reactions have been sparked by the charity dinner organized by the British Museum inside the gallery displaying the Parthenon Sculptures, at a time when Athens continues to demand their repatriation.
Among the guests was Philippe De Gres’ wife, Nina Flohr, who as shown in photographs drew everyone’s attention.
Nina Flohr: The Pink Ball and the backlash
The dinner, titled “Pink Ball,” brought together dozens of celebrities and members of the British elite. All female guests appeared in shades of pink, while participation tickets reached up to £2,000.
However, the choice to set up tables inside the Parthenon Sculptures gallery, beneath the marbles that constitute a point of historic dispute between Greece and Britain, sparked intense international reactions.
The presence of Nina Flohr, wife of Philippe De Gres and daughter of Swiss billionaire Thomas Flohr, added even more publicity to the already controversial event.
Nina Flohr’s appearance
The golden heiress and businesswoman, known for her style and public image, appeared in a deep red blazer and pants set, carrying a red handbag and wearing a choker with precious stones.
Her look was completed with animal print ankle boots, while in the photographs she smiles in front of the ancient Greek statues.
Nina Flohr, who according to reports signs her letters as “Princess of Greece,” attended the Pink Ball radiating luxury – while images of tables in front of the Parthenon Sculptures were causing outrage on social media.

“Dining on history”
The British Museum event has already been characterized by many as “dining on history,” as photographs from the Parthenon Sculptures gallery show tables, decorations, and champagne among the marbles that Greece demands be returned.
The case comes at a time when discussions about the repatriation of the Sculptures are at a critical point, making the Pink Ball not simply a charity event, but a move that raised symbolic and political questions.
