The construction of an underwater tunnel in the Bering Strait that would connect Russia with the USA was proposed by Vladimir Putin’s special advisor for foreign economic cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev. Specifically, in a post on X, he mentioned that the tunnel could be completed in less than 8 years “and would symbolize unity.” At the same time, he proposed involving Elon Musk, arguing that his participation could significantly reduce construction costs.

.@elonmusk, imagine connecting the US and Russia, the Americas and the Afro-Eurasia with the Putin-Trump Tunnel – a 70-mile link symbolizing unity. Traditional costs are $65B+, but @boringcompany‘s tech could reduce it to <$8B. Let’s build a future together! 🇺🇸🤝🇷🇺🧵 👇 https://t.co/boCVb8xqjl pic.twitter.com/QXmTYAduqm

As stated by Putin’s special advisor for foreign economic cooperation, “the cost would be more than $65 billion, but the participation of Boring Company founded by Elon Musk (which specializes in tunnel and underground construction) could reduce it to under $8 billion.” “Let’s build a future together,” Putin’s advisor adds in his post.
From the Soviet JFK docs released by @RepLuna: Kennedy–Khrushchev World Peace Bridge “could and should be built between Alaska and Russia at once.”

It should be noted that, according to his statements, the tunnel with railway and freight connections would pave the way for joint resource exploration. Furthermore, as he said, joint projects between the USA and Russia create jobs and strengthen economies.
“RDIF has already invested in and built the first railway bridge between Russia and China. It’s time to do more and connect continents for the first time in human history. It’s time to connect Russia and the USA,” concludes Dmitriev in his post.
