The visit of American President Donald Trump to Israel is expected to take place on Monday following the closure of the ceasefire agreement for Gaza. Thousands of police officers, Border Police personnel and volunteers will be deployed during Trump’s visit to the country, according to reports. Roads will be closed and aircraft, including drones, will be prohibited from flying over Ben Gurion Airport and Jerusalem.
Trump in Israel: What the visit program includes
The arrival of the American President in Tel Aviv on Monday morning was confirmed to the Times of Israel by an Israeli official.
According to the schedule, he will travel to the Knesset to deliver a speech and will meet with the released hostages. However, for security reasons, he will not visit Hostages Square in Tel Aviv.
At noon, a phone call took place between the Israeli and American sides, during which Trump’s team stated that it would be a “quick” visit, according to the official.
Trump stated yesterday that he would “try to make a trip” to the region to mark the release of hostages held in Gaza, which, he said, would take place on Monday or Tuesday.
Additionally, he may also attend the agreement signing ceremony, to which Egyptian President Abdel al-Sisi has invited him.
