Madrid building collapse: All victims are construction workers from the site
It should be noted that all the injured are workers who were working at the construction site. One of them was taken to hospital with a broken leg. Police sources report that seven workers were inside the building, which was being renovated to become a hotel, however four of them have not yet been located.
“A serious accident on Hileras street resulted in ten injuries (minor, as far as we know so far). The effort at this moment is focused on locating the missing persons, construction site workers, who number four people who may be inside the debris…,” said Francisco Martín, government spokesperson in Madrid.
“All available resources have been mobilized to secure the area and locate the missing persons. The injuries are mostly minor. This is a time that requires prudence and caution,” he added.
