US President Donald Trump signed a presidential order on Monday imposing new tariffs on lumber and furniture imports. Specifically, a 10% tariff is established on lumber and 25% on products such as bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets, and upholstered wooden items, according to an official White House announcement.
The increased tariffs will take effect from October 14, according to the relevant presidential order that was published.
However, from January 1, 2026, tariffs will increase further for countries that do not reach an agreement with the United States:
- 30% tariffs on upholstered wooden furniture
- 50% tariffs on kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
