Ukraine launched a major attack with naval and aerial drones against the Russian Black Sea Fleet at the port of Novorossiysk. The attack resulted in two people losing their lives and three injured, according to a Telegram post by Krasnodar region governor Veniamin Kondratyev. At the same time, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium office sustained damage in Novorossiysk. This is an international project involving Russia, Kazakhstan and major oil companies: a main pipeline transports oil from western Kazakhstan and Russia to a terminal station near Novorossiysk for export to global markets.

However, Moscow had already relocated part of its Black Sea Fleet from Sevastopol in Crimea to Novorossiysk, due to repeated Ukrainian missile and drone strikes that have hit its military installations and ships.

It’s worth noting that recently, special forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had managed to disable a Russian ship near Novorossiysk. This was a multi-purpose MPSV07 vessel, worth approximately 60 million dollars.
These attacks are part of Kyiv’s strategy to target critical military and energy infrastructure in Russia, aiming to weaken the Black Sea Fleet and disrupt energy flows to international markets.
