A woman from North Dakota struck her boyfriend in the head with an axe while he was sleeping. What creates a disturbing impression, however, is the fact that she couldn’t hide her wide smile when police arrested her, as reported by authorities and media outlets. 23-year-old Lena DeOliveira from North Dakota allegedly attacked her boyfriend with an axe while they were in a garage in Fargo early morning on September 5th. The man was rushed to the emergency room when police arrived at the scene after being notified by neighbors.
Murder in North Dakota: The killer’s wide smile
A neighbor said he woke up to screams and saw the 23-year-old hitting the man with the axe. He specifically mentioned two strikes. It was later determined that his fingers had sustained serious injuries from the attack and his head had a large gash, according to documents. DeOliveira managed to flee but was arrested two days later.
Police officers were shocked by her wide smile in her mugshot after being arrested for attempted murder and aggravated assault.
The 23-year-old is being held on $500,000 bail and will appear in court on October 16th.
