A memorial service will be held next Sunday (September 21) in Arizona for conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated at age 31 during an event in Utah. According to the organization’s announcement, the ceremony will take place at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, with doors opening at 8 AM and the program beginning at 11 AM. Kirk’s body was transported Thursday, September 11, from Salt Lake City to Phoenix aboard Air Force Two.
Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday (September 10) while speaking at Utah Valley University, approximately 65 kilometers south of Salt Lake City. Authorities identified the perpetrator as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who was arrested about 33 hours after the assassination. His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday (September 16), when formal charges are expected to be filed.
Trump to attend Kirk memorial service – “I’ll be there no matter what”
The ceremony is expected to be attended by U.S. President Donald Trump, who stated he “will be there no matter what,” as well as Vice President J.D. Vance, who accompanied Kirk’s body upon its arrival in Arizona. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other top government officials will also be present.
Trump mentioned that he spoke by phone with Kirk’s wife, Erica, who is “absolutely devastated.”
