Former United States President Joe Biden underwent surgical intervention for skin cancer, as announced by his spokesperson.
Specifically, Joe Biden, according to statements made to CBS News, underwent Mohs surgery, a method used for the progressive removal of tissue until there is no longer any indication of cancerous cells. No further details about the procedure were provided.
Health concerns for Joe Biden: Underwent skin cancer surgery
It should be noted that the 82-year-old Biden had appeared in recent days with a wound on the right side of his head, which raised questions about his health condition. This is not the first time he has faced skin cancer issues, as in 2023 he had a cancerous lesion removed from his chest during a preventive check-up, and previously, before assuming the presidency, he had undergone removals of non-melanoma skin cancers.
Last May, Joe Biden was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones, and he announced this publicly saying: “Cancer touches us all,” he wrote in his post at the time. “Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we become stronger in the places where we have been broken.”
Has limited his public appearances
After Donald Trump was elected as the new US President and Joe Biden left the White House, he has significantly limited his public appearances. He and his wife, Jill, remain active supporters of research and the fight against cancer, having experienced the loss of their son in 2015 to brain cancer.
What is certain is that the health condition of the former US President is once again causing concern.
