Donald Trump is expected today, Tuesday (02.09.2025), to announce that the US Space Command headquarters will be permanently established in Alabama, reversing Biden’s decision to keep it at its temporary base in Colorado.
A source familiar with the plans, speaking anonymously to the AP, said Trump will officially announce the new location on Tuesday afternoon.
The US Space Command handles satellite navigation, troop communications, and early warning systems for potential missile launches.
The dispute over the command’s permanent headquarters has a long history, with Alabama and Colorado intensely competing for the privilege.
