A powerful explosion occurred on Friday (August 29) in Dagestan, leaving four people hospitalized with burns of varying degrees.
Specifically, a gas station exploded in the village of Sulevkent in the Khasavyurt district, causing a fire to break out at the scene. In video footage released by Russian media, local residents can be seen running for cover from the powerful blast.
The explosion occurred during fuel pumping when the tank decompressed. After the explosion, low vegetation in the nearby area caught fire, according to eyewitnesses.
The Dagestan prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
