Specifically, in statements to USA Today newspaper, the US vice president was asked if he is ready to assume presidential duties in case something happens to Donald Trump, who has survived two assassination attempts. “Yes, things can always happen,” he characteristically responded, adding: “Yes, tragic events occur. And if, God forbid, there is a terrible tragedy, I can’t think of better training than what I’ve received over the past 200 days, on the job.”

JD Vance on Donald Trump: He has incredible energy
Donald Trump, at age 79, is the oldest person to be sworn in as president in the US. Vance, on the other hand, is the third youngest vice president in American history. Despite the age difference, he emphasized that Trump remains vigorous: “He has incredible energy and, while most of his staff are younger, in reality he’s the one who goes to bed last, makes the final phone calls of the day and is the first to wake up and start his contacts in the morning.”
These statements came weeks after the White House announcement that the president has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a blood circulation disorder, following mild swelling observed in the lower extremities. As clarified, the presidential physician attributed the signs to “mild soft tissue irritation,” due to constant handshaking and aspirin intake.
