It should be noted that the incident was discovered by passengers shortly after takeoff of Delta Air Lines flight DL1893 from Orlando Airport bound for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Specifically, terror gripped the aircraft when it was observed that part of the rear wing flap had partially detached and was hanging loose while the flight continued normally, developing high speed at high altitude.

Terror on US flight: “I looked out the window too and was terrified”
Specifically, according to CNN, a female passenger on the aircraft reported: “We thought it was severe turbulence. The plane was shaking.” “The lady in front of us looked out the window and told us it was broken. I looked out the window too and was terrified,” she added, having captured video of the damaged wing flap dangling as passengers worried the aircraft would crash.
It should be noted that despite the moments of terror in the cabin, the pilot managed to safely land the aircraft in Austin. According to the company’s statement, “after landing it was determined that part of the left wing was not in its proper position.” Moreover, Delta announced that the aircraft was taken out of service for maintenance, emphasizing: “We apologize to our passengers for the experience they had, as nothing is more important than the safety of our staff and customers.”
Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched an investigation into the incident to determine the causes of the malfunction, while no injuries were reported among the 62 passengers and six crew members aboard the Boeing 737.
