Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov briefly spoke to reporters upon his arrival at a hotel in Anchorage, Alaska, on Thursday, August 14, wearing a hoodie with the inscription “CCCP” – the Russian letters for “USSR“. Regarding the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, he stated that Moscow will present a “clear and understandable position” during the summit meeting.
Sergei Lavrov: We never make plans in advance – We have arguments and a clear, understandable position
Furthermore, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that much was accomplished during the recent visit of US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to Moscow and that the Kremlin hopes to continue this “constructive discussion” at Friday’s summit.
“We never make plans in advance. We have arguments and a clear, understandable position. We will present it,” Lavrov emphasized. “Much has already been done during the visits of the US President’s special envoy, Witkoff. I hope we will continue this constructive discussion,” he added.
