Donald Trump announced on Friday (8/8) from the White House that he will meet “very soon” with Vladimir Putin. The US president emphasized that “we are getting very close to a deal on Ukraine“. It should be noted that these statements were made during a press conference following Trump’s meeting with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“I will meet with President Putin very soon,” the American president said characteristically. “The meeting would have taken place earlier, but there are security arrangements that need to be taken into account,” he added. “He would like us to meet as soon as possible, I agree with him, but we will announce it very soon,” he concluded.
“There will be a land swap”
Donald Trump also said there will be a “land swap that benefits both sides” as part of a peace agreement for Ukraine. “You see, this is an area where battles have been fought for three and a half years. Many Russians have died. Many Ukrainians have died. So we are examining this scenario,” he noted.
“It’s complicated, actually. Nothing is easy. It’s very complicated. But we will get something back. There will be some land exchange that benefits both,” the American president commented further.
