United States Vice President JD Vance categorically expressed the American position against recognizing a Palestinian state, emphasizing that Washington has no intention of moving in that direction. His statements come amid crucial diplomatic contacts with British officials regarding the Middle Eastern crisis.
JD Vance rejects US recognition of Palestinian state
Speaking to press representatives, JD Vance emphasized that the US does not have any plans for recognizing a Palestinian state entity. The American vice president explained that the absence of functional governmental structures makes the practical implementation of such recognition impossible.
“We do not have plans to recognize a Palestinian state. It remains unclear what such recognition would entail, given the lack of effective governance in the region,” he characteristically stressed.
Vance confirmed that President Donald Trump has set clear strategic objectives for the Middle Eastern region, which will continue to be implemented. The new American administration appears determined to maintain the previous approach toward the Palestinian issue.
Diplomatic contacts with the United Kingdom
As part of his official trip to Britain, JD Vance is holding a meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy at the historic Chevening House estate in southern England. The trip has a family character, as he is accompanied by his family.
For his part, Lammy confirmed that the situation in the Gaza Strip will be a central topic of discussions with his American counterpart. The British minister characterized bilateral relations as “exceptional,” emphasizing the importance of transatlantic cooperation on crucial foreign policy issues.
