At 44 years old, Meghan Markle proves that simplicity, gratitude and love can become the most brilliant celebration. With a dinner at the legendary Funke and a touching “thank you” to Prince Harry, she gave us a rare, authentic glimpse into her life.
“Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special,” she wrote in the caption of her celebratory post. “To those of you I don’t know but who send love every day, thank you so much. Know that I feel it and appreciate it,” she added.
The Duchess of Sussex even gave a behind-the-scenes look at her birthday celebrations. She joked that she would “make food lovers a bit jealous” of her fans when she revealed that her party took place at the famous Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills, which has become a popular spot for stars like Kim Kardashian, Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Matt Damon among many others.

The acclaimed restaurant is run by head chef and co-owner Evan Funke, who had previously opened Felix Trattoria in Los Angeles. Since opening in January 2023, the restaurant has earned a coveted spot in the Michelin food guide and ranked 25th on the Los Angeles Times’ list of the 101 best restaurants in Los Angeles.
In October, it served as the venue for Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Skin launch, while a year earlier, Kim Kardashian celebrated her own birthday at Funke as she turned 43.
In her caption, Meghan praised Funke and his team for one of the “top five meals of my life.” “Outstanding. Thank you for an extraordinary culinary experience,” she wrote enthusiastically.
Earlier on Tuesday, Meghan shared a series of rare personal messages on social media from several of her closest friends from her “Montecito moms” circle and her days as an actress.
