20-year-old found dead in Sicily pool: “We want to learn the truth” devastated parents declare
During a press conference, the unfortunate student’s parents made a public appeal for transparency and full investigation of the case: “She was a good girl, full of light, with a passion for studies and sports. Everyone knew her. She always completed whatever she started. We just want to know why. What happened? Why did she die at a celebration? We only want the truth,” they declared with trembling voices.
Standing beside them were Simona’s two siblings: her twin sister Roberta and their brother Gabriele. The villa where the party took place had been rented specifically for the event. During the carabinieri’s inspection, several empty alcohol bottles were found at the location. The tragedy occurred around 4 AM, when most guests had left and the organizers had begun cleaning up. The investigation is ongoing, with the family insisting they will not stop until the truth about what happened to Simona is revealed.
Many questions arise from 20-year-old’s autopsy in Sicily
Following the tragedy, an autopsy was ordered. However, as stated by the family’s lawyer, Gabriele Giambrone, there are many unanswered questions. The lawyer argues that for a considerable time, no one noticed the dead girl’s presence in the water, despite the pool being small and the villa full of people. Additionally, Simona’s body position when found is inconsistent with falling into the water.

As he reported, her parents were not notified by anyone about their daughter’s condition, and when they called her mobile phone, a stranger answered telling them “Simona is not well.” When they arrived at the villa, they found her dead. Her best friend had left the party an hour earlier, at 3:00 AM. This gap in the timeline of events raises serious questions about what happened in between. Giambrone is calling for an urgent autopsy, noting that when he arrived at the villa early in the morning, dozens of young people were still there waiting to give statements.
“Nobody saw anything – Simona never drank”
“Nobody saw anything, while some were still wet from the pool. How is it possible they didn’t notice anything?” he wondered, adding that the residence was “excessively clean” and there were no traces of alcohol. “Simona never drank – she was meticulous about her diet. What happened that night?” the lawyer questioned. Meanwhile, authorities collected DNA samples from a young man who allegedly injured himself, according to his account, when he kicked out in shock upon learning about the incident. Blood traces were found at the scene and are being examined.
