Better than one meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping are three meetings between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. The U.S. President posted on Truth Social that he will meet with his Chinese counterpart again in China — likely in the city of Shenzhen, which is set to host the APEC summit in November (18–19) — and again in Florida around mid-December, as Miami will host the G20 summit on the 14th and 15th of that month. Trump emphasized that “a lot was accomplished” during Xi’s visit to Washington.
Trump: “Bessent is doing a great job at Treasury”
In an earlier post, Trump also made clear that he has no intention of moving Scott Bessent from the Treasury Department to lead the country’s artificial intelligence initiative. “Scott Bessent will not be the Super Intelligence Czar. First, he doesn’t want to be. Second, he’s doing a great job at the Treasury Department, and that’s where I want him to stay! Why would I make such a change?” According to Trump himself, he is searching for an AI adviser and looking to establish an “AI Force.” This remains an expressed intention, however, as he provided no further details.
