Attack with unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and missiles was launched during the night by Russian armed forces against Kyiv, causing the death of one person and injuring at least 20 others, according to an official statement by Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

“The enemy attacked the capital with missiles and drones. The Sviatoshynski and Solomianskyi districts were those most severely affected,” Klymenko stated in his post on the Telegram platform.
The attack occurred in the early morning hours, with the casualty count recorded by 06:30 local time. Ukrainian authorities continue rescue operations and damage assessment. A missile “hit an apartment building” resulting in “complete destruction of part of it,” he added, clarifying that rescue teams managed to pull two survivors from the debris.
The head of the capital’s military administration, Timur Tkachenko, reported that about 20 locations in Kyiv were struck, including a school building. He stated that the number of injured is 27 and clarified that the person who lost their life was a woman.
Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported that the blast wave from explosions shattered windows of a hospital’s pediatric unit, with no casualties reported.
In its daily briefing, Ukraine’s General Staff reported 1,292 explosive drone raids and 50 air strikes on Wednesday.
