“At 8:30, a railway company employee discovered an object on the tracks here in Treuchtlingen, in front of the station, deemed it suspicious and reported it to the police. We then examined the object and also classified it as suspicious — possibly suspicious for explosives. For this reason, federal police specialists and bomb disposal teams are on site examining the object more closely.”
A federal police bomb disposal team is examining the object to determine whether it does in fact constitute a threat.
Authorities carried out an X-ray scan of the object, according to the Middle Franconia Police Department.
