The Malta-flagged tanker Cavos Maleas, owned by Greek interests, is reported to have been severely struck and abandoned by its crew in the Persian Gulf, while the Liberia-flagged vessel Acheloos sustained material damage.
Two additional incidents currently under investigation have been reported, according to ERT, in the Black Sea. The seven Greek sailors aboard the Greek-owned vessel NISOS IOS, sailing under a Malta flag, are reported to be in good health. The ship sustained structural damage to its bridge but is navigating independently toward the Bosphorus.
No Greek nationals were aboard the Liberia-flagged, Greek-owned tanker Asia, which was struck near Novorossiysk and is reported to have sustained material damage.
